Aamer took two wickets for Karachi Kings

Aamer Yamin - Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings' all-rounder Aamer Yamin credited their president Wasim Akram for giving immense confidence to the team before locking horns with arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars in eighth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 on Sunday.

In a press conference after convincing victory against Qalandars, Yamin said that the former Test cricketer gave confidence in the team meeting.

"Wasim bhai gave us confidence in the meeting today. He told us to not take pressure and play aggressively," he shared.

Yamin bagged two wickets and conceded just 18 runs in his three overs against Qalandars. He bowled brilliantly after Kings' main bowler Mohammad Amir left the field due to pain in his right leg.

To a query about Amir's presence in their dugout, Yamin said that he is world-class bowler and he learns a lot from him.

"Amir Bhai is a world-class bowler. I get to learn a lot from him. Yes, I replaced him and our plan was to bowl on line and length and I did it," he said while indicating that Amir is doing fine and will be available for the next match.

Kings will now travel to Multan to play against Multan Sultans on February 23. Yamin, who belongs to Multan, appealed to the people of his hometown to come and support his team.

Karachi Kings won maiden match in PSL 8

Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 67 runs to secure their maiden victory in PSL 8.

Put to bat first, Kings posted a competitive 186-run target on the scoreboard before bowling out Qalandars for 118 runs in 17.3 overs.

Skipper Imad Wasim struck in his last over after Akif Javed took two wickets to put Kings in control against Qalandars.

After Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Amir gave the Kings two early breakthroughs, Tahir Baig and Kamran Ghulam led the run-chase.

But young bowler Akif, who was roped in as a replacement for an injured Mir Hamza, struck twice in his third over to send the two batters back to the pavilion and put his side on course for victory.
